So the check marks on the list have actually started. The first one to go is #20 – a 50 mile bike ride.
And usually while you’re checking off things, you should do it for a good cause as well. So today’s bike race for the American Diabetes Association was worth it. Along with Chris, Cyndie & Adam – this was a race that was fun, exciting, and quite tiring.
Time to get back to checking more off the list.

Inspired by Dan Saffer, I decided it’s time to make my 30 before 30 list. Thirty things to do before I turn thirty. It’s not a list of impossible things, like going to the moon. There’s definitely enough time (well, 2 years isn’t too bad) – but some of the tasks may not be as menial. Especially veal stock. Anywhoo, here’s the 30 – time to start crossing.
- Experience the Spain countryside
- Travel across at least 3 countries in Asia (preferably with my mom/dad)
- See the Niagara Falls, from both sides
- Drive up the Pacific Coast Highway from San Diego to Seattle
- Spend a weekend in the Oregon wine country
- Eat at The French Laundry
- Learn to speak Spanish to an okay proficiency level
- Donate blood
- Find a place to volunteer on a regular basis
- Discover an amazing new band in the city
- Spend a day at a gorgeous beach – nothing but eating, playing, drinking, and enjoying the sunset
- Collect a really meaningful art piece
- Go fishing in the pacific northwest
- Learn to swim better
- Take a dance lesson
- Complete a 10 mile day-hike where the view from the top is breathtaking
- Grow an urban garden
- Party all night in New York till I see the sun rise
- Go see a ballet or opera
Do a 50+ mile biking trip
- Brew a Flemish sour ale, only to make me appreciate the Duchesse de Burgogne even more
- Prepare an amazing 5+ course meal for two
- Teach someone to cook independently
- Design & launch a meaningful product or service that others will use
- Make a new friend
- Build a tangible piece of art
- Make veal stock from start
- Learn & practice yoga
- Open up my life and heart to someone
- Help a complete stranger for the good
So there we go. Not vastly unlike lists you’ve never seen. It’s all about starting to check it off. Pictures shall serve as proof.
Finally decided to go with a remember the milk Pro account. After a lot of debate, supporting the gang is good, and its a free iPhone app!
